Keep Reading, Kids!

sdfair cert

The San Diego County Fair has always offered free admission for kids ages 6-12 who read 10 age-appropriate books, but we're still encouraging kids to read even though the fair is canceled this year! Have kids keep track of the books they are reading by printing the fair certificate in English or Spanish below. Then, take a photo of your child holding the completed certificate and enter in one of the two following ways for a chance to win a fabulous prize pack from Sandcastle Tales in Del Mar or a gift certificate from Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore! Winners will be chosen at random.

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED, BUT CHECK BACK IN 2021 FOR THE SD COUNTY FAIR CONTEST! In the meantime, keep reading!

Choose the way you enter:

  1. INSTAGRAM: Post a photo of your child holding the completed 2020 reading certificate. Tag and follow: @sandiegofamilymagazine, @sandcastletales and @mystgalaxybooks. Then use #ShareSanDiegoFamily, OR

  2. FACEBOOK: Look for our post about the reading contest on Mon, June 1. Post a photo of your child holding the completed 2020 reading certificate in the comments of that post.

Thank you to the San Diego County Fair, Sandcastle Tales and Mysterious Galaxy for being supporters of literacy!

PLEASE NOTE: The fair's 2020 certificates say "free admission" to the 2020 fair, but that is not accurate since the fair is canceled this year!
