For families caring for children or young adults with disabilities, an Emergency Responders Kit (aka Safety Plan) provides much-needed peace of mind. In an emergency, this simple tool helps caregivers and first responders know what to do, what to expect and who to call. A Safety Plan is a lifeline that travels with your loved one wherever they go.
Unable to find a printable Safety Plan that worked for her son, San Diego County mom Rosie Haggerty created her own. The Special Needs Resource Foundation of San Diego, inspired by Haggerty’s comprehensive documents, created a free, printable Emergency Responders Kit for local families to use in the community. Click on the pdf below to print your own three-page document, fill it out and keep with your loved one at all times.
