Inclusion at the Kroc Center

Part of the ongoing mission of the Salvation Army is to meet human needs in Jesus’s name without discrimination. To us here at the Kroc Center, that especially means for our youth community and their involvement in all of our programs. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in the amazing services and activities we have to offer.

We believe that diversity within both our program participants and staff - across race, gender identity, age, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, and physical and mental disabilities - foster an understanding and appreciation for all people in our beautiful community.

We offer both inclusion-based accommodations as well as adaptive classes for different programs as every program is unique and has different ways of approaching what they teach.

Inclusion based accommodations include

Differentiated instruction for participants in sports, music, art, and camp programs,
One-on-one inclusion aids on an as-needed basis for camp participants,
Wheelchair assistance in Kroc Jr. Theater, and more.

The Kroc Center is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming setting for your child to learn, play, engage, and develop within our various programs and we encourage you to reach out to us with any accommodations your child might require during their time here. Please contact the manager/coordinator directly responsible for the program you are interested in to discuss what we can do to make your child’s experience amazing here at the San Diego Kroc Center!
