San Diego Run for the Hungry. The scenic 5K and 10K run/walk starts at Broadway Circle in front of Westfield Horton Plaza, and goes through East Village and the historic Gaslamp Quarter. 7-10 am. $36-$61. Pacific Marine Credit Union O’side Turkey Trot. The 10K and 5K run kicks off at 6:55 am and 8:05 am respectively, starting on historic Hwy. 101 at the Civic Center and finishing on The Strand just south of the Oceanside Pier. Also featuring a 5K walk, 1-mile kids’ runs for ages 7-12, Tiny Turkey Trot quarter-mile runs for ages 6 & under, and a costume contest. Register at www.osideturkeytrot.com.

Father Joe’s Villages Thanksgiving Day 5K. Join more than 7,500 walkers and runners bright and early at Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park to help bring an end to homelessness in San Diego. Del Mar’s Family Fun Run. Runners complete a one-mile loop on the dirt track and may even find themselves running alongside a world-class jockey or two. Encinitas Turkey Trot & Food Drive. The course starts and finishes under the world-famous “Encinitas” sign on the historic Coast Hwy. 101.
