(Running time: 132 Minutes) Rated PG-13
Starring:  James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon

Who would think that a prequel could surpass even the original movie? This one does as it shows who Dr. X and Magneto were and how they got together. Beginning in a concentration camp in World War II, we see Magneto, then Erik (Fassbender) being isolated from his parents. The cruel Nazi (Bacon) wants him to bend metal and when Erik can’t, the Nazi shoots his mother. Erik is destroyed.

Then the movie jumps to the 1960’s just before the Cuban Missile Crisis. We are following Erik who will not rest until he avenges his mother’s murder. He meets Dr. X (McAvoy) who is a college boy. Dr. Xavier and Magneto, sworn enemies, began as fast friends. The movie shows how they came together to fight the Nazi who is intent on ruling the world by setting up the Russians and Americans to destroy each other.

The mutants gather other mutants to form a fighting force to save the world. Using real footage of John F. Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, this movie has a credibility none of the others possess. The different mutant “talents” and personalities are fascinating. I can’t say more without spoiling the movie. There is violence, no sex and no bad language in X-Men: First Class. This is a great action movie, don’t miss it. Take your child 11 and over and enjoy a well-written, well-acted, entertaining movie.

User Reviews for X-Men: First Class
I read the movie review on X-Men 1st class and the article states "There is violence, no sex and no bad language in X-Men: First Class," so I decided to take my daughter to go see it. There was violence but a blatant F-Bomb is hardly no bad language. Honestly, if I had known that was in there, I would NOT have gone to that movie. - Reader Review
