Come and join us with our new Arts & Crafts Program for kids, where we'll explore different materials, textures, colors, paint, tempera, markers, crayons, glue, playdough, clay etc. in our beautiful and
motivating environment.
Our philosophy lies in the theory that every child is unique and our
values are based on a strong image of children as curious, competent, and capable of constructing knowledge. With that, our environment will be designed to support the connection between the school and the community.
We will promote emotional and social development through art. The classes will allow children to explore all areas of their creativity.
The classes are designed to stimulate children's imagination and sense of uniqueness, as well as improve their fine motor skills, coordination and other sensory stimuli while reinforcing good social skills in a group environment.
We also promote recycling and will use a lot of recyclable materials. Save the Planet one day at a time!

INTRODUCTORY MUSIC CLASSES FOR MOM AND ME! By popular request, Desi's Music Center will be offering an 8-week introductory music course in which children and their parents or grandparents will learn to make music together on a keyboard instrument. Classes begin Tues, June 17.
This class provides the opportunity to introduce children to the joy of making music. It gives the adult an opportunity to explore making music on a keyboard instrument for the first time or to revive and polish up skills learned in childhood. Easy-to-read music, tutorial materials, games and team activities make learning easy and fun.
Research shows that both children and adults learn more quickly and easily in a fun-filled group atmosphere. In this beginning music class students will be introduced to the language of music by learning how the letters of the musical alphabet become notes on a staff and in turn become notes in a song. Rhythms, instrumental sounds, note reading, melodies and harmonies will be introduced as students learn to play on a digital (electronic) keyboard instrument. Today's digital instruments make for quick and easy learning through the exploration of exciting automatic accompaniments and EZ Play chording. The keyboard skills and basic music concepts taught in this class may be applied to any keyboard instrument. Children must be 6 years of age or be entering first grade in the Fall. Call (619) 565-5400 for class times and information. Desi's Music Center has classes just for adults, too!
