Traditional Montessori Education offered in South Bay
Dinusha Perera saw a serious need for a Montessori school connected with an organization that followed the method, so she opened Montessori Explorer in July 2001. Serving children from preschool to the lower elementary grades, the school is affiliated with the American Montessori Society.

Local Mom Creates Re-usable Cloth Diapers to Help Infant Daughter Thrive
A true mother of invention, Linda Byerline developed “Happy Heinys,” her popular line of reusable cloth diapers, in response to her premature daughter’s health struggles. Baby Sarah’s allergy to disposable diapers inspired Byerline to use her background as a nurse and stay-at-home-mom to create the diapers that she and her husband now manufacture in El Cajon and sell to the public in their store, Baby Frenzy.
The natural parenting store also carries hard-to-find products from companies like Baby Legs, Beco, Belly Bandit, Ergo, Inspired by Finn, Nose Frieda, Simple Wishes and more.

New Blog Presents Valuable Information on Children's Health Topics
“There are many sources for kids’ health information on the Internet, but how do you know if you can trust them?” asks Dr. Tanya Dansky, medical director and CEO of Children’s Physicians Medical Group (CPMG). To help remedy this, CPMG has launched a new health blog: Kids’ Health First, as a resource for pediatric health information and news.

Swim School Teaches Water Safety Skills to Infants and Children
“In 1976 my own children began swimming,” says Jere Burns, owner of Bubbles Swim School. “My passion for teaching started when I saw how my children responded to the water. It was then that I realized babies can learn to swim. The freedom of movement in the water helps them to develop motor skills they are unable to use on dry land. I wanted to share this with others.”
