“Water: Our Most Precious Resource” High School Photo Contest. Sweetwater Authority invites high school students in their service area to submit photos taken within the county that reflect some aspect of water or the lack of water. The winner receives $200; 12 runners-up will each receive $100. Photos will be featured in Sweetwater Authority’s June 2011 Water Quality Report & Calendar. Citizen Athlete of the Week Award. This annual program honors athletes for their sports achievements and citizenship. Awardees will be interviewed by KUSI’s Sports Division, receive a letterman jacket patch and earn a mention on KUSI News. Winners and coaches will be honored at a June 2011 banquet. Overall Citizen Athlete wins a $1,000 scholarship and a family cruise for four. Open to any high school varsity athlete participating in a CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) sanctioned sport.
